The good news is that FlavorStone™ specially designed gemstone-tough and non-stick Sapphire coating is free from PFOA! Perfluorooctanoic acid or PFOA, is a synthetic chemical which is usually a component in non-stick coatings and if ingested remains in people for a long time which is not very desirable. It is also scratch resistant and prevents virtually anything from sticking to it.
